Catch My Bus tracks buses in real time so commuters know where their bus is and when it will reach them. I worked on it in Haldia, in a hybrid role.
I architected the real-time IoT tracking backend in Node.js and WebSockets. Devices on the buses send telemetry every 5 seconds; ingestion pipelines take in the GPS and passenger data, and I cut their latency by 30%.
Devices talk to the backend over custom WebSocket protocols I implemented for secure device communication, which made the system more secure and more reliable.
The commuter app, MyBus, was designed by uDG Forma: live bus tracking, seat availability, digital tickets and route planning in one place.
